How do I change expenses to not billable

Thanks for joining us, @chrtucke. We are looking forward to a successful journey with you.

Let me give you a hand in turning off the billable expense tracking from the expenses tab. You may follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings, then Expenses.
  3. Under the Bills and expenses tab, click on the pencil icon.
  4. Turn off Make expenses and items billable to disable it.
  5. Click Save.

It is important to note that disabling the option to mark all expenses as billable has no effect on or changes the previous transactions. The modifications take effect only after you toggle the Make expenses and items billable box. In the future, if you desire to turn it back on to record billable fees, then you can follow the same steps.

I recommend reading these articles for more information on tracking your expense transactions:

I hope we’ll stay in touch and get to work together again in the future. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions to help us improve, even from afar.

I don't have this option. Is this part of a higher subscription or where else can I find this settings option?

Good morning, @Betsy66

Thanks for chiming in on this thread.

These settings are available in QuickBooks Online Plus or Advanced. If you have a lower subscription, you won't see this option.
