How do I create a report showing shipping per invoice?

I want/need a report which shows me the shipping costs per created invoice, I need this to be able to calculate the commission fee's for my sales reps. The only way I have found to display the actual shipping costs is to get a sales by customer detail report, which also shows the shipping costs. But this report is totally unsuited to be used for my goal (create commission rate for sales reps).

My ultimate report would just show the customer, invoice number, total, rep, shipping and sales tax.

Is there anyone who can help me out with this? Perhaps it is impossible, but I'm unable to find any reports on shipping costs (per invoice/sales order).

We are using quickbooks 16.0 accountants edition.

Consider using a sales commission app and integrate it to your QBD. I found about 5 apps in the market.

Just my 2 cents.

Hello, @JvP79.

You can run the Sales by Rep Details report. I can guide you on how to generate and customize this report.

Go to the Reports menu.
Choose Sales.
Select the Sales by Rep Detail report.
Click the Customize Report button.
Select the Display tab.
Click the Total by drop-down, choose Rep.
In the Sort by drop-down, click Type.
Click Ok.

This report sorts each item per invoice by sales rep. From here, you can use the data in creating a commission rate per sales rep. You can check this article for more detailed steps: Customize customer, job, and sales reports.

I sort of understand what you are wanting, and why; but, QB does not associate shipping costs with sales.

I assume you are selling with shipping included in your price structure, Probably the best you could do is to "assume" a percentage rate for shipping and just deduct that from the total sales - sometimes you will win sometimes lose that way.

Thanks for your reply.

Sadly that is not possible, as I have invoices ranging from 1 to 600+ products, this would be highly inaccurate.

Thanks for the suggestion of the app! I did not know this was possible, I will defenitely investigate!

As for the report, indeed I had found this option. Combined with excel and with another report it does allow me to create the data I need. Although it works like it should, it is far form ideal.

I have a way of how you'll be able to acquire this report, CuriousGeorge1.

For now, running a report that will show the shipping per invoice is unavailable. You'll want to let our product team know how this feature is useful for your business. To send a request, follow the steps below:

Go to the Help menu.
Select Send Feedback Online.
Choose Product Suggestion.
Enter your request, then click Send Feedback.

In the meantime, you can export reports to Excel so you can consolidate them into one. This way, this will show the correct information.
