How do I get a QB Desktop report for weekly expenses by account number without budgets

I know a way how to run the weekly expenses report without the budget data in QuickBooks Desktop, JJyoung.

The option to turn off budgets when running an expense report is unavailable in QuickBooks Desktop. However, we can run the Transaction Detail by Account report and customize it to show the expenses, the weekly period, and the account number. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu.
  2. Select Accountant & Taxes, and click Transaction Detail by Account.
  3. Click the Customize Report button.
  4. Tap Filters.
  5. In the Search Filters field, choose Account.
  6. Select Multiple accounts and choose all expenses that you need to include in the report.
  7. Tap OK. Then, click Date and choose This Week or This Week to Date
  8. Go back to Filters and choose Number. Then, press OK.

To exclude the budgets from the report, we can export them in Excel. From there, we can modify the report data and exclude the budget. We can click the Excel drop-down and choose Create New Worksheet. Then, follow the instructions to export it.

In case the export to Excel option is grayed out or you can't select it, follow the steps in this article to troubleshoot the issue: Fix export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop. Furthermore, we can memorize reports in QuickBooks to save their customization settings. This way, we'll have quick access to your frequently used reports, and won't have to repeat the customization process.
