How do I get SKU numbers to show up on my POs when I send them?

Hello there, @tnclearys.

The option to add the SKU to the purchase orders you send is currently unavailable to QuickBooks Online (QBO). As a workaround, you may use the description box in adding the SKU of your products to your POs.

To add this feature in the program, I suggest sending your valuable feedback to our product developers. By doing so, you can help us improve our services and make your experience with QBO even better. To submit your request, follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, select Feedback.
  3. Enter your suggestions.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Choose Feedback for the category.
  6. Click Send.

Rest assured that our developers will review and consider your feedback depending on the number of requests received. You can track your submitted feature request and view the most recent QuickBooks updates on our Feedback forum page.

After sending your PO to your vendors, you can now track the bills and record the payments.

Let me know if you have more queries about your purchase orders. I'm here to provide assistance and help you with your concerns. Have a good day.

How do I get SKU numbers to show up on my POs when I send them?

Same request shows up over and over again since 2018. I have been following this request for 6 years and the friendly folks at QuickBooks keep saying that all we need to do is report it to their development team and with enough requests it will be added.

I'm not sure what more we can do. For all QuickBooks knows about businesses I can't believe they don't understand how businesses purchase products. If it was easier to switch platforms I would have done it by now, but its a lot. At this point, I am super disgruntled, frustrated, and annoyed, and my only recourse is to be a detractor and to make sure new entrepreneurs starting a business know to avoid QuickBooks at all costs and to use another software.

Alternatively, I will become a promoter if the single most important feature that is missing, for which I and an entire community have been asking for years, finally gets implemented.
