How do I know who a deposit is from when there is no customer information provided? The bank detail tells me nothing and I cannot square to the amount.

You can log in to the QuickBooks Merchant Service Center to identify the name of the customer who made the deposit, Beth. This platform also provides comprehensive information about online customer transactions.

Here are the steps to access more details about a particular transaction:

  1. Log in to your account in the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Proceed to the Activity & Reports menu, then select Transactions.
  3. Change the period in the drop-down list for Dates ▼. You can filter any six-month period in the last 12 months.
  4. You can also click the Show advanced options link, then type in the amount in the Minimum amount and Maximum amount fields.
  5. Click Search.

Once you find the deposit, you can:

  1. Click the transaction to see more details about it.
  2. Go to the small Gear ⚙ icon to see more options.
  3. Print the report or export the data as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

If you'd like to learn more about finding transactions in the Merchant Service Center, I recommend checking out this article: Find Transactions, Deposits, Or Fees In The Merchant Service Center.
