Once you close your company in QuickBooks Online, your data will be available in read-only access. Intuit will keep your data for a year before deleting it.
Furthermore, the ability to merge two QuickBooks Online companies is currently not possible. Each company is created as a separate file and can't be merged. However, you can manually enter the data into the new company or export the old data from the old company and import it into the new. Also, check out Merge companies, data files, or copy lists.
However, if you want to consolidate and compare your QuickBooks companies, you can also utilize a third-party app to export and import your file that has a feature you need for your business. By doing so, you can import a list of your transactions. Here's the link: QuickBooks App Store. You can navigate to the Apps menu within your QBO account and browse for an app from there.
