Thank you for reaching the Community.

I'd like to help in making sure you change the default date for your transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

You can go to your preferences and set the default date for your transactions and relaunch your QuickBooks for the changes to take effect.

Like this:

  1. Go to QuickBooks at the top.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Select Transactions.
  4. Click on the option Use current date as default on a new transaction to enable it.
  5. Relaunch QuickBooks.

Please let me know how it goes. I'll check on your response if your able to change the date for your transactions. Have a wonderful week!

Hello frustrated1011,

Thank you for reaching back out to us! To verify, did you close the program and restart it? This is a crucial step for the settings to apply to the program. If so, and it still didn't work, let's go ahead and update the date on your computer settings and try to postdate the invoice or check as a workaround.

Let me know if you were able to get through. I will be looking out for a response. Take care for now.
