It's good to see you here in the Community, @adamjandreau.
I've got your back on recording a return receipt from Home Depot/Lowes in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
You can record a vendor credit or a credit card credit to record the return receipt depending on how they refund it.
If the Home Depot/Lowes refunds through check or cash and not on your business credit card, you can enter a vendor credit to record the return. Here's how:
- Sign in to your QBO account.
- Click the + New button, then select Vendor credit.
- Select the vendor (Home Depot/Lowes) from the drop-down.
- Enter the refund information.
- Click Save and close.
However, if you got a credit back on your business credit card, you can use credit card credit to enter the return. Let me guide you how.
- Click the + New button, then choose Credit card credit.
- Select the vendor (Home Depot/Lowes) from the drop-down.
- Enter the refund information.
- Click Save and close.
I'm adding this article for more guidance: Enter a refund from a vendor.
You might also want to see all your vendor records to review the status of their transaction. You can go to the Expenses menu and Vendors. Then, select the specific vendor and go to the Transaction list.
Let me know how it goes, @adamjandreau. I want to make sure this is taken care of. I'll be standing by for your response.
