What I don't understand, is how so many people need this report and all Quickbooks gives is the same not helpful answer. It is literally the same response each time and not correct.
They should own up to it. They don't have a report that works and they are working on it.
I wonder if it's an actual person reading the questions. Because the answers offer mostly irrelevant solutions. It's not an update problem. It's not a data problem. It's not a user problem. It IS a QB programming problem!!
QB really needs a different button besides CHEER. How about QB GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!
Just give us a clear work around to generate the report ourselves.
No I don't need to update. No I am not calling customer service. Last time I called she said she had no notes about there being an issue with the report.
We actually received our 1st Round PPP in February 2021. I would really like to get the loan forgiveness paperwork completed, but, like everyone else, I can't get it to populate past 12/31/2020. I COULD generate the report myself (and probably will), but that really makes QB not very useful. And telling me to call the support center is a waste of my time. Last time I needed support, it took me almost 8 hours over 3 days to get a link that could have been on the web site. Unfortunately, to change to another accounting platform at this point (I've been with Quickbooks since the early 1990's), would also be a major hassle.
No, this doesn't work for the PPP Forgiveness reports
Still doesnt work!!! I tried customer service and they told me to talk to the "Capital Loan Dept" The first round of support never ever knows what they are talking about.
I just need the PPP Loan forgiveness report after 12/31/20 Just Like everyone else.
Thank you for posting a response in thread, proscapelandscape1446.
I'd like to help and make sure you can pull up the PPP Loan Forgiveness report that you need.
You can easily pull up the different PPP Loan Forgiveness reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
Here's how:
You can also select the date and export it to excel.

Greetings, @3delis.
Thanks for bringing this matter to my attention. I understand how important it is for you to run this report immediately. No worries, I'm here to ensure you can successfully run a PPP Forgiveness report.
Currently, QuickBooks Dekstop has a limitation in opening this report. For now, I'd recommend reaching out to SBA and Treasury. This way, you'll be able to have an option in changing the date so you can open the 2nd round PPP Forgiveness reports.
Here are some articles that you can refer to about the PPP Loan program:

I simply do not understand this response - why would i contact the SBA to fix a QB error ?
These replies need to stop as i mentioned in my first post.
Plz have an engineer respond as to when this issue will be resolved.
We are simply going in circles here with no solution.
We are beyond frustrated and these responses simply anger and frustrate people more.
Your instruction can't help us to run PPP reports for the 2nd PPP loan.
Your instruction does not help me to run 2021 PPP reports. Please release the new fix.
I have tried to custom the Cash Compensation report and it will not allow the dates to change. If you can't get the dates to change you can't export a new report. Please get this problem fixed ASAP as time is running out for some of us to apply for PPP Forgiveness.
As of August 19th, still nothing.... :(
As of Aug 20th - no changes
8/23 Still nothing - notice how the unhelpful replies from QB support has stopped - realized what they're offering is not helping and they have no support either
but yet - no engineer or anyone from a higher mgmt position responds to the needs of QB customers here.
PPP forgiveness is critical and yet no help - the most frustrating aspect is just the lack of response
Hello
I'm Using Qb desktop Accountant version, my reports menu does not have PPP reports,
I already update the software and nothing, what can I do?
Hello there, @almarosace. Glad to have you here.
Based on the details, the issue you’re experiencing is being worked on by our engineers. Rest assured, this is taken with urgency.
We’ll have to add the company to the list of affected users. This is to ensure you’ll receive email updates of the investigation. Please give us a short call to make sure your company details are added in a secure environment.
Within your QuickBooks Company file, select QuickBooks Desktop Help from the Help menu. You can also press F1 on your keyboard to bring up the same Help panel. To route you to the correct support expert, we need to know what type of question you have. Give a brief description of your issue and click Continue.
To expedite the process, you can provide this number: INV-60705

Still, you can use other payroll reports for necessary information. You can filter the important details you want to add to your QuickBooks reports. Check these resources for additional tips:
Let me know if you need anything else about running PPP reports or any QuickBooks reports. I'll be around to provide details about it. Take care always.
I have found a report in QB that I will use for my PPP forgiveness submission:
Reports
Summarize Payroll Data in Excel
(if it presents an error-click YES)
Choose your dates using "Custom" (PPP Loan date-8 or 24 weeks)
No Optional Reports are necessary
Get QB Data (close the pop up Repairs to QB Payroll pop up)
Wait for the report to load - it will take several minutes
Use the Employee Journal and delete or hide the columns you don't need
Click in the SS# column and a pop up box will open---un-check the SS choice and those SS#'s will be taken off.
Hope this helps!
Tina
As of afternoon Thursday, Aug 26 help is still saying it's a known software problem and engineers working on it and will add out company to those affected. They also say well, you have two years to apply for forgiveness, so maybe that's their timeline for fixing the issue. What poor performance!!
I have been meaning to post this for a while. tinas solution will work, but it is missing a critical step. The custom report goes by check date and will not include accrued payroll which can be forgiven, so your payroll numbers will be understated. You will need to manually calculate the accrued payroll and add it to the number generated by this Custom Report.
The SBA did not accept any payroll reports from QuickBooks other than the PPP Cash Compensation Report on my first round loan forgiveness. They want a report from a 3rd party payroll service or the PPP Cash Compensation Report. They do not want a report you can export to excel from QuickBooks because they claim these reports can be easily manipulated. A trick is to export your reports as a PDF file and add the QuickBooks logo to the report.
You are asking us to take time to call in when it looks like Intuit still does not have a fix for this matter-same on you. This is the kind of things that customers complain about-you do not value our time. Intuit (tech support) should have a solution that an update for QB's desktop would take care of this matter and solve this problem globally. You should know this.
I ran the state wage report in excel for the covered period. I selected my covered period to include full payroll so there would be no prorated cash compensation. The columns of the report I used; SSN, Last Name, First Name, and Wages. I deleted all other information from the report. I changed column heading " wages" to "Cash Compensation". I added the following column headings; Prorated Cash Compensation, Total Cash Compensation, Eligible Cash Compensation. Cash Compensation = Total Cash Compensation and Eligible Cash Compensation ( exception employees with annual wages excess $100,000). Prorated Cash = $0.
Exception calculation
$100,000 divided by 52 weeks x # weeks in covered period. enter that amount for each with annual wages excess $100,000
