How do I set up a recurring invoice with the first invoice to start TODAY and the next invoices to follow on the 1st of each month?

Good evening, @kristin14

I hope you're having a great day. You can set Invoices up as recurring starting on the first, but you'll have to create a separate Invoice for today. This is because even though you set the start date of the recurring template, the system will not create them until the set Interval that you established on the template. You can set up recurring templates by following the steps below:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon and press Recurring Transactions.
  2. In the top right-hand corner, hit the New button.
  3. In the drop-down box, select Invoice and then click OK.
  4. Enter a Template Name, Type, Customer, Interval, and Start Date.
  5. Choose a Service Date and a Product/Service.
  6. Push Save Template.

That's all there is to it. Now you have a saved template for your recurring Invoices. You can also check out this article on editing templates for more information.

Let me help you get this set up much quicker.

Start with today's transaction and Save it.

While it is open, click Make Recurring at bottom and follow steps for first posting on 3/1 and monthly thereafter

Thank you for your replies.   So I'm trying to get today's invoice to list as part of the recurring transactions that are listed.  Today's invoice would come up as "prior invoice" and next one would be 3/1 (attached screenshot).
