How do I stop the automatic generation of an invoice every time I create a journal entry to account "Accounts receivable"?

Hi @BADboy,

I'll take care of this query for you.

Whenever you create a journal entry in QuickBooks Online (QBO), it doesn't automatically create an invoice or any other transactions.

What you can do is open your browser's private window. This isolates cache, which is usually the cause of a browser's unusual behavior.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If that works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Otherwise, open an alternate browser that's available for you.

Check out this article: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online. It's a step by step guide on how you can reverse or delete a journal entry.

I'll be around to offer further assistance in case you need it. Post a comment below, and I'll get back to you.

Thanks Ryan,

What I was referring to was under Sales, in the left side menu bar > customers, when clicked, it shows open invoices. But I didn't create any invoices, and when clicking the invoice tab there are no invoices in there. So why it calls it open invoices beats me. What it is, are $ amounts that have to reconciled.

It's just a weird way, to my uneducated mind, of classifying things, and thereby confusing me. But I guess I'll get the hang of it eventually. It just seems over complicated for some one like me who's doing simple accounting.

Anyway, thanks for quickly responding!
