Hi there, chris-errcsdesig.

I'm here to ensure you're able to switch your invoice layout back to the new experience in QuickBooks Online.

You can freely switch back from the old to the new preferences at any time. Just click Try the new invoices from the invoice window and you can continue with your business.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the + New.
  2. Choose Invoice or Estimate.
  3. Once done, click Try the new invoices

Refer to this article for more information about the feature: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can check out this guide where you can customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you need further clarification about the new experience. I'm always to provide answers to your QuickBooks queries. Have a nice day!

Hello, chris-errcsdesig.

Thanks for getting back to us. I'll lay down a solution to help us bring back the missing "Try new invoice" button on the invoice form.

The missing "Try new invoice" button might be caused by a cache-related issue. When a browser's cache data is full or if there's a corrupted webpage, it can cause odd behaviors in QuickBooks.

So, lets confirm this with an incognito window (good for determining cache issues):

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P.

Log in to your QuickBooks Online account and check for the button. When it appears normally, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This removes the cache data that's preventing the button from appearing.

Alternatively, we can use another supported browser to check for the missing button.

If you're still unable to see the button, let's take this to our support so they can investigate what's causing the issue. They can use their tools look deeper into the system and fix this for you.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Click the Help icon.
  2. On the pop-up window, click the Contact Us button.
  3. Type "missing "Try new invoice" button" in the box, then proceed with Continue.
  4. Choose how you want to reach us (phone or chat).

If you'd like to utilize the reports to see your sales, expenses and other data, I'll add this article if you need help in the future: Run reports in QuickBooks Online

Do you have more questions about using templates or layouts for sales? Or do you have any concerns regarding your entries? Let me know and I'll help you out.

None of this worked.

I appreciate your patience and keeping us updated, @chris-errcsdesig

QuickBooks Online rolled out the new experience for invoices and estimates to some of our users to gather feedback about it. However, some users with this experience were switched back to the old one.

While there isn't a way to switch back to the new experience at this time, I do have a workaround you can try.

Once you sign into QuickBooks Online, use the links I've included below to take you to the new experience. Please take note that the new estimate link is down at the moment. But I wanted to provide it so when it's back up again, you have it handy.

I understand the frustrations you must have after having this feature removed. With that said, I have submitted these concerns to our Development Team on your behalf.

I'm always around if you have any questions or concerns. Take care!

For anyone needing to send estimates / proposals via email and have electronic acceptance, Freshbooks does this and more. I switched over yesterday as the features were better than Zoho.

Intuit , by taking away the new invoice with no notice, pushed me to another service and lost over 10K a year in merchant fees.

For those in the same boat, QB is not the only game in town, actually kinda glad they made me look at alternatives as I like Freshbooks better.
