Buy now & saveI purchase multiple supplies to build the items I sell. Can I track those supplies as inventory even though by themselves they are not a product.
Yes, Madd. You can track those materials as inventory even they're not a product in QuickBooks Online.
We can set up inventory items in QuickBooks for each material you purchase to build the products you sell, allowing you to effectively track the quantity on hand for each item. You can then combine these materials into a bundle for sales to your customers. Please note that while the individual inventory items will track their quantities, the bundle itself will not track the quantity on hand.
To begin, let's set up individual items for each material:
1. Click the Product and Services under the Sales tab.
2. Tap the New button, then choose the Inventory Item.
3. Enter the Item Name and SKU, and Category
4. Tick the Purchasing tick box to input vendor information.
5. Lastly, press Save and New or Save and Close.
Next, you'll need to combine those individual inventory items by creating a bundle, here's how:
1. Press the New button from the Products and Services.
2. Enter Bundle Items information.
3. Input the inventory items you've set up earlier under the Items Included in the Bundle section.
4. Lastly, Save and Close.

QBO doesn't offer the assembly feature. You should have a manufacturing app or an inventory management app with the assembly feature to integrate with QBO.
