This solution doesn't work as the pop ups continue to appear.
Give us a solution to stop them indefinitely. You can email us advertisements or send us something in the mail. The user experience is severely lacking!!!
I understand its your platform and we're paying to use it. And if you want to show us pop ups about your 1000 features you can, because its your platform and that's the user experience you want us to have, but it impedes our usage and degrades the experiences. It does not provide guidance on enhancing it - it's just straight sales.
I'm shown ads (not guidance) for items I don't need, nor that I need to know about. They do not relate to my business or current situation. I do not have options for "not right now" (which is an open invitation to show it to me again whenever you please).
At least give us preferences to opt in our out about hearing about features or solutions and give us options to choose between pop-up, email, sms, etc.
Please improve your user experience ASAP!
I can see how disabling the advertisement message pop-ups in QuickBooks Online benefits your view and performance, @dandiggler.
However, this isn't possible. As we value your suggestions, now would be a great time to send your feedback to our Product Development Team. Here's how:
Please know that we're constantly taking your suggestions into account while making product updates. The more requests this gets, the more likely it will become part of the product's future enhancements.
You'll want to review this great resource to guide you in managing your business using QBO: Help articles for QuickBooks Online.
Feel free to tag my name if you need further assistance while working in QuickBooks or want to share your best practices using the product. I'll get back to make sure you're taken care of. Have a great day ahead.
The feedback option does not exist there in the online version of Quickbooks.
If this is my only option this is pretty poor.
Now, it is 3 years and it is still going on, and the support person actually sent me here to see how to deal with the advertisements. Telling me she was going to get them stopped. What a joke.
My browser is also set to block pop ups. This advice sends the user down a road that provides no solution. The support person also told me this on the chat. These are advertisements which are placed by QB in the program with no way to get rid of them., (Well, maybe change accounting software.)
I agree. this is the worst!! I have OnPay integrated into QB, and I still get payroll advertising over and over.
The 'X' does not stop the pop ups. what it does is make you look at the Ad in order to find the 'X' to shut it down. The very next time you arrive at the same spot in the app, you get yet another ad. This is so unacceptable. I am repulsed.
I completely agree. This is the worst user experience ever! There seems to be no escape
I am reading this entire thread, it has been going on now for over three years, and multiple employees come on and say, "Put in feedback" But the feedback is not heard. And it seems that nothing is changed. Can you suggest something different. Like perhaps sending us the email address, or phone number of someone in Product development that could change this?
Imagine, the the developers sat down to write code, and everytime they moved the cursor, an advertisement came up for a different editor, and the answer was, please just click on the 'X',
This is ridiculous. Next comes social media.
So I just spent half hour on chat with QBO, and you can get them to stop by properly adding the URLs into your browser pop-up settings, in order to block them. I was successful in getting rid of : The register tips windows that came up everytime I went to bank register, also the "Tags" suggestive window that came up everytime I went to the banking main page, and finally the two separate pages that would pop up prior to taking me to the reconciliation tool.
Just adding my voice to this ridiculous topic. There are marketing 'professionals' with questionable ethics that work at Intuit I would love to meet.
Big fan....
The only solution I've found for this is to use adblock plus chrome extension's "Block Element" feature. It works fairly well, though sometimes I believe Intuit intentionally breaks this and it has to be redone.
THIS IS THE WAY
Clicking on the x does not work. It just opens right back up again. Never ending loop. Its often in my way. I hate it.
We appreciate your feedback about the presence of ads in QBO, lmichaud5.
I also understand that repeatedly closing pop-up windows and ads can be inconvenient, especially when you're trying to focus on your work. However, I'd like to share some insights on why they show up.
These pop-ups and ads are designed to help users discover hidden features and capabilities within QuickBooks Online (QBO). They serve as a valuable tool for introducing new functionalities that can enhance your experience and streamline your workflow.
While the Community is a great way to share your ideas and connect with fellow users, you can also directly convey your thoughts and feedback to the QBO engineering team. Here's how:
Your valuable feedback will be directly sent to the QBO engineering team, who will consider it for future improvements and enhancements.

We sincerely appreciate your valuable feedback about the ads. Don't hesitate to reach out to us again if you have any further questions, require additional assistance, or encounter any challenges while using QBO.
This post was started in 2020, it's clear Quickbooks does not care to listen. We're all business owners here with the goal of making a profit, I would respect Quickbooks more if they would just admit this is their business model to stick us with a subscription program that allows them to continually push advertising so they can possibly make more money, rather than continually give useless answers and options to submit feedback. Lol. But please do suggest that after I make this post again, I'm sure it will make a difference.
System is running very glitchy for me. Well, everything except for the ads. The entire leadership is terrible and should be gutted. They took what was once a leader in technology and have just bunked everything at every turn. The only thing impressive that they do is come up with new and innovative ways to make their product worse.
You’ll probably get an ad for a glitch-free upgrade sooner than later, ads will still be part of it though:)
@jenop2and all QB employees - "I also understand that repeatedly closing pop-up windows and ads can be inconvenient..." HA!!! "inconvenient" does not describe the frustration and ill will you are creating by not listening to paying clients. Advertise the heck out of a free version, but when you have a paying customer, you should respect that relationship and quit putting unnecessary and irritating reminders of your company. We know who you are. We know how to get support if needed. We know how to request additional services if we need them. You do not have to keep reminding us. All it really does is pi$$ off your paying customer base.
Wouldn't it be much nicer for you to read things like "well done" and "good job", rather than all the negativity your company creates by doing this?
