How do I view a list of expenses that are not matched to a bank/cc transaction?

I'm trying to track down some discrepancies in my accounts. I'd like to find expenses that are not matched to a bank transaction. How do I generate this list?

Well, I think I figured it out.

Go to Reports -> Transaction Detail by Account.  Then filter on "Cleared": "Uncleared"

Good work, @jp-eda!

Thank you for letting us know how you're able to figure out the report need to see the list of expenses you haven't categorized or matched. This is very helpful because other customers who need to pull up the same data are always able to view this thread and learn from the steps you shared.

Additionally, I've also included this reference helpful with a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: Browse all articles for your QuickBooks product.

How do I view a list of expenses that are not matched to a bank/cc transaction?

It would seem that the report you have mentioned is no longer available.  The Transaction reports available are:

  • 1099 Transaction Detail Report
  • Recent Transactions
  • Transaction List by Date
  • Transaction List by Tag Group
  • Transaction List by Vendor

I have run each of these and the option to add the "CLR" field is available, but the filter is not.

So the question remains, how to we filter on the Clr field (or cleared)?  This seems like the ability to filter on any field should be an option.

I appreciate your time joining this thread, @JJ James.

All I want is to to help you generate the reporting you need to view your expenses that were matched or unmatched with your bank transactions. Before we start, can you please confirm if you're unable to pull up the report suggested by jp-eda? If not, what report are you pertaining to? Any additional info will help me provide the accurate resolution.

In the meantime, the following reports can filter Cleared and Uncleared transactions:

  • Transaction List by Date Report
  • Transaction Detail by Account
  • Transaction List by Tag Group
  • Transaction List by Vendor Report

You might want to check on them and see if you're able to do the action. Here's how the filter looks like:

Also, I'd like to know the subscription that you have with us. The preferences on our reports may vary from one version to another. I need to check if your service have this option available. To check your subscription, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.

  3. Your subscription is shown below your company ID. See this sample screenshot:

I'll wait for your reply. Please mention me so I'd get notified of your response. I'll be right here to help anytime.
