How do set up a retainage payable account that so that you can get the amount out of your accounts payable ledger?

You can create a new retainage payable account on your Chart of Accounts. Let me show you how:

1. Go to the Accounting page, then Chart of Accounts.
2. Click New.
3. Under the Account Type drop-down menu, select Other Current Liabilities.
4. On the Detail Type drop-down menu, choose Other Current Liabilities.
5. In the Name field, enter Retainage Payable.
6. Click Save and Close.
