How to add credit card expenses to QB when the credit card payment is already showing up as an expense? If I add the credit card transactions, it duplicates expenses?

Hi, @info-jointtherap. I'll help you record your payments to credit card.

QuickBooks Online gives you multiple options for recording credit card payments so you can keep track of your expenses and provide accurate financial reports.

Here's how to pay down a credit card:

  1. Select + New.
  2. Under Money Out (Business view), or Other (Accountant view), select Pay down credit card.
  3. Select the credit card you made the payment to.
  4. Enter the payment amount and the date of the payment.
  5. Select the bank account you paid the credit card with.
  6. To add notes or file attachments, select Memo and attachments.
  7. Then select Save and Close.

You can refer to this article for more information: Record your payments to credit cards.

Once you have already recorded your credit card payment, proceed to match the transaction by following these steps:

  1. Select the Recognized tab and locate the transaction.
  2. Under the Action column, select Match.

Here's an article for additional reference: Categorize and Match Online Bank Transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I've also added this article for future reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

I always get your back. If you need anything else, just don't hesitate to post a reply. Stay safe and hydrated!
