How to call back a deleted chart of account?

Thanks for posting your question regarding the restoration of a deleted account, janenee. I am here to assist you with this matter.

When deleting an account in QuickBooks, it's not permanently removed from your Chart of Accounts. It's simply deactivated, which is why it disappears from the list.

You can read more details about how the program manages inactive accounts in this article: Make An Account Inactive On Your Chart Of Accounts In QuickBooks Online.

The good news is that it's easy to restore a deleted account and make it active again. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go back to your Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the Gear icon ⚙ next to the printer icon. Then check the box for Include inactive.
  3. Find the account you want to use again, then select Make active.

Just in case you can't see it, you can create a new account to replace the old one. Here's an article as a guide: Add An Account To Your Chart Of Accounts In QuickBooks Online.
