How to create a P&L by Calendar Qtr, when business uses a different fiscal year?

Our PPP loan forgiveness application is asking for a P&L for the last CALENDAR year, subtotaled by Quarter. But we use a fiscal year ending in July. So when I create a P&L for 2020 with Qtr columns, QB puts January in a column by itself, then Feb-Mar, etc, ending with Nov-December as a Qtr (FIVE quarters in all).

Is there any way to make QB group in calendar qua

If you set your Fiscal year to start in August, then reports will total by quarters starting in August.

To do this, go to Company | My Company. Then click the Edit link in the upper right corner (looks like a fork) and then on the Report Information tab, pick August for the Fiscal Year.

Then run a P&L and at the top of the report pick This Fiscal year as the date range, and then Quarter for the Show Columns value.

You can run P&L by any customized date range in Desktop. Selecting Fiscal Year is a convenience and certainly not what ypu want. Start with the report for any date range and then adjust the dates at the top, which would be 1/1/20-12/31/20. Next in the customize section where it says Display and default is Total, change that to Quarter and you will have a report with 4 quarterly columns and a sixth total column
