How can I create a report that shows sales that includes by Job Type? I know how to filter by Job Type, but I don't want to filter I want to report the Job Type so that it shows as a column heading. For example, if I have residential, commercial, and retail job types I would like to report what last year's annual sales was for each job type. Thanks!

Hello there, @tstrong. I'm here to help you generate the sales report you need.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), the specific report that will show sales by job type is currently unavailable. You can only customize a sales report and use the Filter feature to include the job types. You can run the Sales by Customer Summary report and filter to display all of the job types with the annual total sales for last year. You can also export the report to excel to further modify the report's columns on a spreadsheet. Let me guide you how:
1. In your QBDT program, go to the Reports menu.
2. Scroll down to the Sales section and choose Sales by Customer Summary.
3. Next, click the Customize button.
4. From the Display section, set the Date to Custom and enter the specific date for last year.
5. Then, select the Filters tab. In the Search Filters field, look for Job Type and click OK.
6. Once done, click the Excel drop-down to export the report and do further modification on a spreadsheet.
You'll want to memorize the report customization so you can always apply the same modification and display your preferred format in the future.
