I've come to provide some insights about deleting an account in QUickBooks Online.
At this time, deleting a bank account totally in QuickBooks Online isn't an option for us. QuickBooks ensures that you can still restore the bank information in case you need it for future transactions. That said it will only give you the option to inactivate it.
To do that:
- Go to the Gear icon.
- Select Chart of Accounts under Your Company.
- Find the account you want to delete.
- Select the drop-down in the Action column, then choose Make Inactive.
- Hit on Yes to confirm the action.

On the other hand, if these are duplicate accounts, you have the option to merge your accounts to create a single representation of your bank in the Chart of Accounts.
