How to pull partially paid invoices into invoice paid reports?

Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @ivo3. I'll share some insights about getting partially paid invoices to show to a paid invoices report in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Please know that in QuickBooks, if you customize an invoice report to show paid invoices only, partially paid invoices won't reflect on it since you've got that report set to only reflect invoices that you've marked as paid.

If your goal is to have a clear view of your sales in QuickBooks, including those partially paid invoices, you'll want to run the Sales by Customer Detail Report and set it to Cash instead of the Accrual accounting method. With this, you can see the amount paid on your invoices, and also, for those invoices partially paid, it'll show you the remaining balance along with the amount your customer paid.

I'll gladly input the steps below you can proceed. To begin, here's how:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, go to the Reports tab.
  3. In the Search bar, type Sales by Customer Details and then click on it.
  4. Have the Accounting method set to Cash.
  5. Click the Customize button, and then go to the Filter section
  6. Have the Transaction Type set to Invoices.
  7. Once done, press the Run report button below.

In addition, here's an article in case you'd like to save the current settings of your customized report and have them carry over the next time you run the same report in QuickBooks: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

You can also visit this page about setting up reports to be emailed automatically to your peers: Set schedule and email information for a memorized report.

It's been a pleasure to have you here, @ivo3. Know that you can always get back to me or post here again if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. I'll be more than happy to help you again. Take care, and have a good one!
