I have an Original Amount column on few reports. I guess the Original Amount column comes with refunded or returned item's transaction. Any solution how to remove the column permanently?
Hello iamC!
QuickBooks Desktop allows you to customize the reports. Let me assist you in removing the Original Amount column.
When you run a report, click on the Customize Report button. From the Display tab, search the column name in the Columns search field. Then, remove the checkmark, and tap OK.
Check this screenshot for your reference.
Then, you can save it so that you don't have to customize it again if you need the same report.
You can check this link: Understand reports. This explains the purpose of the reports in QuickBooks Desktop, and it has different articles you can check, too, that will discuss how to customize, set report preferences, and more.
I'm just a post away if you need more help in running reports. Take care!
Hello Alex,
Thank you for your email. I wanted to ask how to make a default set-up for removing the Original Amount column. I don't want to see the Original Amount column on any reports.
I never had the Original Amount column before we update the QuickBooks Desktop 2022 from the other version of 2021.
Please let me know. Thank you!
Hi there, iamC.
I appreciate you for coming back to the thread to ask for further clarification about making a default set-up for removing the Original Amount column. With this, I'll be sharing some details about the said option and ensure you can send feedback so your suggestion is forwarded to the Product Development Team.
A cash-basis report shows the income received and expenses that were paid in cash. Every time you run it in QBDT, the Original Amount column will automatically show. This is to easily view the exact amount you received and paid via cash.
That being said, making a default set up for removing the Original Amount column is currently unavailable. I encourage you to submit feedback. These requests and suggestions are forwarded to the Product Development Team for consideration in future updates. To start with, you'll have to go to the Help icon and choose Send Feedback Online.
Please open this article so you're able to view different details on how you can personalize various reports in QBDT to see specific data you need: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
I'm always here whenever you need help with running reports. Just let me know, and we’ll get back a soon as possible. Take care.
