How to revert back to old invoice layout?

We can see the convenience of having the option to go back to the old invoice layout, jimreneejackson.

Our developers have made changes to the form's design to enhance the invoicing experience for both new and existing customers. For QuickBooks Online (QBO) Simple Start and Essentials users, the option to switch back to the old invoice layout is unavailable. Same with the QBO Plus and Advanced users, we've also migrated to the new invoice layout which started on May 6th, 2024.

The new invoice format may be challenging due to its altered interface positioning and changed appearance compared to the old layout. However, we can customize your invoice template and sales form styles for your business needs. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon on the top menu.
  2. Select Custom Form Styles.
  3. Click New Styles on the top right of the page and choose Invoice.
  4. Start customizing everything, rename the template, and hit Done.
  5. Open or create an invoice you wish to customize. Then, tap Manage.
  6. Under the Design tab, select the invoice template you customized earlier under the Other templates section.
  7. Go to PDF View in the ribbon tabs to download the PDF and review it before you send it.

For more details about customizing sales forms, refer to this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online. Also, here's a handy resource I attached for you to use as a guide when recording customer payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

You're more than welcome to drop by if you have questions about managing your invoices. Do you need to run some reports or would you like to take care of customer payments? Let me know and I'll lend a hand again.

How to revert back to old invoice layout?

@RCV customizing the new layout has not been a solution. It is still missing essential features for customers that were available in the old layout.

Have you reported to your managers and the engineering team that the response to the new layout has been overwhelmingly negative?

How to revert back to old invoice layout?

@VoltF I, my whole team, and many other users have been submitting feedback. When it became clear during the new invoice rollout that it would not be functional for me and my colleagues, we submitted feedback that it would be essential for us that Quickbooks not remove the old invoice layout. None of us received any response from the Product Development team and the old invoice layout was indeed removed last month, so our feedback was ignored.

As part of the Quickbooks Team @VoltF have YOU made it clear to your management that the user reaction here on this forum has been overwhelmingly negative? There is no indication that our feedback has reached anyone a decision-making positions at Quickbooks. We would think that the Quickbooks team on this forum would forward the feedback they see on here to the departments that can actually effect change. Has that been happening?

Thanks
