How would you insert a line item or sub total into the middle of the body of an estimate that has already been created and saved?

I used to be able to put my cursor on the line and get a plus sign which allowed me to add a line item into the middle of an already saved estimate.  The same thing with adding subtotals into the body of the estimate.  Now it seems I can only add on after the last line item added.

Yes, you can add line items in your created estimates, @carterlandservic. Let me guide you through the step-by-step process of doing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Adding a line item in between items for an existing estimate is still possible.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Estimate that you want to edit.
  2. You only need to select first the line item to insert a line item above it.
  3. Click Service Date and in the left corner, tick the blue plus icon.image (8).png
  4. From there, you can add line items in between the items.

As for the subtotal line item, though it is in the last part of the estimate, we can drag it and put it in between line items.

Additionally, I am adding this article to enhance your invoice and estimate layouts: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
