I created an invoice for hourly services but the “Amount” and “Subtotal” on the invoice are not correct. The “Total” is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I guess it’s a bug in the “Preview” function. I emailed the invoice to myself and all of the amounts were correct.

I'll help you fix this, sandsbrey-gmail.

The Subtotal field describes the total price for each product or service that the customer has ordered. In contrast, the Total field shows the overall sum of the subtotals.

To isolate the issue, you can perform some browser troubleshooting steps. There are times that the stored temporary internet files cause strange behaviors in QuickBooks Online.

You can start by signing in to your QuickBooks company using a private window. This mode doesn't save your browsing history and site data. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • For Firefox or Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
  • For Safari, press Command + Shift + N.

After that, open the invoice again. If it's now showing the correct numbers, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache to start over fresh. Switching to other different browsers can also help resolve the issue.

If there's anything else that I can assist you with, please don't hesitate to add a comment below. Have a good one.
