I have noticed that the system calculates COGS based on FIFO, how can I change this to weighted average?

You can't change it. QBO calculates COGS based on FIFO, that's known.

Average cost is available in QuickBooks Desktop. Consider using an inventory management app with the average cost feature and integrate it with your QBO.

What apps integrate with QBO AND are able to send Average Cost as COGS? I believe the only way to do this would be to turn off QBO Inventory - is this possible? What are the implications of turning off (if it is possible)?
