I'll help you merge bank accounts in QuickBooks Online.
Certainly, you can consolidate them into a single account, but it's important to note that merging bank accounts is irreversible. When you merge an account, all the data is transferred into the account you want to keep, and the duplicate is removed. If the account has reconciliation reports, ensure that you have saved them so that transactions remain in the merged account and stay reconciled.
Here's how:
- Go to the Accounting menu on the left navigation bar.
- Select Chart of Accounts.
- Locate the account you want to keep. Then, click the drop-down arrow next to View register and select Edit.
- Take note of the account details and click Cancel.
- Look for the account you want to merge. Then, click the drop-down arrow next to View register and select Edit.
- Change the duplicate account's info to exactly matches the account you want to keep and click Save.
- When you're ready, select Save and then Yes, merge accounts.
