For now, you can only search by customer's name when creating an invoice through the Plus (+) icon. Though, you can go to the Customer Center and search for the name of the company. Then, create the invoice from there. Here's how:
Go to the Sales menu and click Clients.
Enter the name of the company in the Search bar beside Batch actions.
Click on the name of the company.
Click New Transaction, then select Invoice.
Let's also send your feedback about adding more search options when creating invoices. Just click the Gear icon and select Feedback. All product feedback will be collated and will be sent to our engineers.
We're always here if you need more help with QuickBooks Online.
Your answer applies to Quickbooks Online, does it also apply to Quickbooks desktop. We run Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 is it the same that we cannot search by our customer's company name from within the invoice screen? In older versions you can. We are migrating from QB 2004 to 2019 and are finding that a lot of, ease of use, features are not in the newer version. Are we missing a setting somewhere or has Intuit decided to make the software less user friendly?
To ensure your voice is heard, I'll gladly share this idea for our developers to consider. For now, I want you to be updated with the new features added in the software by checking the New Features option.
