I set a forwarding filter for QB expenses but gmail is asking for a confirmation code sent to my QB expense email I set up. Is there a way to get the code or workaround?

Fun Fact: Gmail forwarding now works. I tried to set it up on 2/19/24
You have to have some patience.
  1. Set up the 'Manage forwarding email' in QBO from the receipts tab.
  2. Could you give QBO some time, say 15 minutes, to get the new email into Intuit's servers?
  3. Verify the QBO Users have access to use receipt under Manage Receipt Users
  4. Go to Gmail that your invoices are sent to (it must be a  QBO user email account that is allowed to Manage Receipts in step 3 ), and in Gmail Settings, go to Add a forwarding Address
  5. Enter the new QBO  yourchoice@qbodocs.com
  6. Gmail will tell you it is sending a notice to get a verification from that address.
  7. Stay calm and wait an hour +/-; Intuit will eventually send your Gmail a response about the verification code. This email will contain a link that will tell Gmail forwarding is okay. The code is hidden in that link.
  8. This is the message: We have received an auto-forwarding request from your email address to the Intuit destination email.

Please acknowledge that you have taken the following actions for the best forwarding experience.

    1. Please set up appropriate rules to only forward receipts and bills to your Intuit destination email address.
    2. Make sure you do not auto-delete forwarded emails to retain a copy in your email.

To enable auto-forwarding on your destination email, click here.

  9. Hit the Confirm button on the next screen.

  10. Refresh Gmail so the new forwarding address will display in the dropdown box. Forward it to:

  11. Gmail can now forward, and QBO will now accept.

  12. Create your forwarding filters in Gmail.

  13. Test

  14. Your Vendors must send invoices to this Gmail account for QBO to accept them into QBO.

  15. Vendors can not use yourchoice@qbodocs.com

  16. Yeah!

This, unfortunately, did not work for me. I do not think this applies to everyone who has a Google Workspace business account. I never received an email from Google in response to the verification they sent QuickBooks. I couldn't see why this would be a problem, but could it be that we have a domain and not @gmail.com?

We appreciate you for joining us here in the thread and for sharing your concern, @Matriarch4. Let me route you to the support to help you further set up a forwarding in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To set up email forwarding in QBO, you need to register the email address of a company user by entering a code that was sent to the email address you have set up for your expenses. Since you're facing any issues related to having a domain and not using Gmail, you can contact our support team, and they will help you resolve this issue. Here's how to contact:

  1. In your QuickBooks, click Help (?).
  2. Select either of these tabs:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
