I use wave and am switching to QuickBooks, can I transfer or impute all my customers and info.?

Importing your customers and their information in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is easy peasy, @userliveoakyards.

First off, you would like to create your own Excel spreadsheet or export the date from your Wave account and use it to import into your QBO account. Here's how:

  1. Create a new Excel spreadsheet.
  2. Make sure the columns on row 1 of your Excel spreadsheet have the same headers as under the capital letters below.
  3. Fill in your spreadsheet with the contact's information.
  4. Save the Excel spreadsheet as a .xls or a .xlsx file and take note of its location.

However, if you have exported the file, here's what you'll do:

  1. Open and review the .csv file you saved earlier.
  2. Ensure the columns on row 1 of your Excel spreadsheet have the same headers as under the capital letters below, in the same order.
  3. Review the spreadsheet and fill in any missing information or correct any mistakes.
  4. Then, save the Excel spreadsheet as a .xls or a .xlsx file and remember where you saved it.

If all is set, you can now import the data into your QBO account.

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Import data.
  2. Select Customers.1.PNG
  3. In the Import customers page, click Browser and open the Excel file you have saved.2.PNG
  4. Map your data, then click Next.
  5. Adjust your data if necessary and select Import.

@userliveoakyards

Purchase a QBO account, not QBSE.

then you may have other options:

1. Prepare your data in XLS and utilize an importer tool

2. Purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

How is this done to covert to QBD? I prefer Desktop to Online, since Desktop is far superior to Online. Thanks!

@pmfastner

You can still consider two ways as I mentioned earlier. And you can still purchase the one time license for QB Desktop 2021 if required.
