I used to be able to add a customer quickly when entering a split deposit , just entering their name. Now it takes me to a whole new screen. Can this be changed?

I appreciate you for posting here in the Community, @dea821.

Would you mind confirming for me if this is the whole new screen you mean on your end?

If so, allow me to clear things out. This is the updated process of adding a customer to QuickBooks Online (QBO) which makes it different from the old one.

If you have additional questions about the feature and display of QBO, never hesitate to route back here. I'll be happy to lend a hand. Take care!

Is there a way to bypass this new customer screen, and enter just a customer name as before?   It was much faster for my needs.

I appreciate you for getting back to the thread, dea821. Let me share some information to help clear things up for you.

As of now, with the new design, we're unable to provide a turnaround time and the option to utilize the older preference for entering a customer name.

On the other hand, we highly value such ideas, especially for your convenience. That being the case, it would be great to share your suggestions and feedback regarding this option with our product developer. Here's how to send feedback:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4.  Click Next to submit.

Our product engineers will consider your suggestions, and you can always check the status of your request through this link: QuickBooks Online Customer Feedback.

You can always refer to our Help Articles for further assistance whenever needed. There are a variety of QuickBooks-related topics and instructions here.
