Glad to see you here in the Community, @business17.

I'll share insights on how you can create budget in QuickBooks Online.

You can make a copy of an existing budget rather than beginning from scratch. This allows you to get a head start on this year's budget by using data from the previous year.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Click on Settings ⚙️ and then select Budgeting.
  2. Locate the budget you want to copy.
  3. Hit the Action ▼ dropdown and then hit Copy.
  4. From the Copy Budget screen, fill in  the new budget name and fiscal year.
  5. Choose Create Budget.
  6. Update the budget amounts if needed.
  7. Click on Save or Save and close.

Once  done, this will save a copy  of a separate budget.

This procedure isn't copying budget only.  It's incorporating last year's actuals to get a "headstart" on next year's budget.  There appears to be no way to copy a budget only to the new year, a significant shortcoming of QB.  It's been this way for as long as I've been using QB Premier, 27 years.
