If my comparative P&L/Statement of Activity shows current period (Mar.) vs previous period, why is PP showing as Jan 29-Feb 28 (31 days/not Feb)? First time seeing this?

I am treasurer of non-profit reporting to board of directors monthly. I use a custom comparative P&L/Statement of Activity to show results of current period vs previous period, current YTD and previous YTD. I moved from QB Desktop to QBOA in 2023. For the first time with March reporting, I am seeing the previous period labeled as Jan 29 to Feb 28 - a 31 day period, but not just the month of Feb. How can I fix this?

I'm here to help you correct the dates of your report, Isaiah.

The Statement of Activity Comparison (SOA) report for the previous period includes the period before the current month shown in your original SOA report, which is why January and February are displayed. To set it for February only, you need to customize the date in your previous period (PP) comparison report and save the changes.

Here's how to do it:

  1. From the left panel, choose the Report menu.
  2. Choose the Custom Report, then open the SOA comparison (previous period) report.
  3. Change the Report period dropdown to Custom dates and select dates from Feb 1-Feb 28.
  4. Click the Save button in the upper right corner of the page.
  5. Then, review your PP report.
