Import Excel to QB Desktop PC

I've found the conversation about how to do this for a Mac but not the PC. We have already exported the Square Reports into excel but now I cannot find a way to import it to our Desktop Premier for PC QB.

Anyone else able to share how they do this?

I can share some information about import Excel files in QuickBooks, @vhaili.

At this time, you can only import CustomerVendorItems, and Chart of Accounts in your QuickBooks Desktop Premier account. We've based the reports that you can generate in QBDT on the transactions you've recorded and added to the account.

You can import those lists from the File menu. Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, select Utilities then Import, and then Excel Files.
  2. If you get the Add/Edit Multiple List Entries window, click No.
  3. Follow the wizard in importing files.

Check this article for more information: Import or export MS Excel files.

I also invite you to visit the Firm of the Future site. It contains resources and tips to help easily use QuickBooks.

Hi KatieV1,

Yes, you can bring in your transactions to QuickBooks Desktop.

When doing so, you'll have two options on how you can import the data. You can use either Standard or Advanced import.

I've added this article as your guide for the detailed steps to import: Import or export MS Excel files.

Afterwards, you can categorize the items.

Let me know if there's anything that I can help in categorizing the transactions. I've got your back!

Hi 6011 0284!

It's quick and easy to import the data from Excel to QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. Let me show you.

  1. From the File menu, select Import, then Items.
  2. Select the item type to copy to QuickBooks.
  3. In your spreadsheet, press Command + C to copy the info. In QuickBooks, press Command + V to paste the column.
  4. Make sure that the Import box is selected for every item row.
  5. Tap Import, then OK when the import is successful.
