Importing from existing company file doesn't include the payee....

I posted yesterday about an import not importing (from PC Quickbooks to Quickbooks Online) the Payee for all my entries.

I am currently testing Quickbooks Online and still have a chance to switch and I am wondering if perhaps the import feature for Quickbooks Mac version is better? Would it be more likely to import critical entries like Payee?

I really don't want to have to maually import using a csv file if I can avoid it.

Advice please?

Thanks

Amber

Switch to QBD Mac would be better for your case. You can utilize the trial license for QBD 2021 to make sure.

Importing from existing company file doesn't include the payee....

Hi there, @AmberUKUSA.

Allow me to provide information about the difference in the import feature between QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks for Mac.

QBO and QuickBooks for Mac had different functionality and limitation when importing data. QBO only supports CSV files, Google Sheets, or an XLS/XLSX file format, while QuickBooks for Mac includes IIF files. You can check out these articles to learn more about the import and export limitations for QBO and QuickBooks for Mac:

Importing from existing company file doesn't include the payee....

I think i need to be clearer.
I have Quickbook files from a PC Quickbooks version.
I want to upload the last Quickbooks company file to use in either QBO or Quickbooks for Mac.

I currently uploaded my company file to QBO and it is missing Payees and it seems to only go back to end of 2019 while the original file goes back at least a further 8 years.

What's the best way for me to use the original QB company file that I last used in Quickbook for PC in either QBO or Quickbooks for Mac?

Thanks for any help. I am on a trial version of QBO currently and I need to make a decision on where to move my data to (stay with QBO or move to QB for Mac).
