In 2022, the client paid an invoice through QuickBooks, but the transaction was disputed. I would like to confirm whether the invoice was paid

It's been two years. How can I find out whether this invoice was paid or not? I don't see this invoice in my QuickBooks.

Good morning, @zofia-koryto

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to the QuickBooks Community. How are you doing today? I hope all is well.

You can review the status of the invoice once you find it. To locate the invoice, you'll want to ensure you have no filters set, etc. I'm including some steps below to help narrow down your search.

  1. Click on the Invoice tab on the left side of the screen.
  2. From the All dropdown, click on Paid

This will show you all your paid invoices. If you don't see it listed, try typing your client's name in the search box at the top of the invoice list.

That should do the trick. Please let me know how it goes. Take care and have a good one!

Thank you! I have already checked this, but I can't find the invoice; I may have deleted it. I tried to locate the transaction, but it seems I can only view transactions from the past year, so I'm unable to check if this went through. I only remember that the payment was disputed. I wish there were an option to check all transactions.

I appreciate you for following the steps given by my colleague, Zofia. I'll share more details so you'll be able to see the paid invoice in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

All invoices will be displayed in the Invoices tab, as long as the date filter is set to All Dates. Adjusting this filter ensures you can view all invoices without any restrictions based on date.

To check if an invoice has been paid, I suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Merchant account . This will allow you to verify the payment status of the invoice and confirm whether it has been processed.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Pick the Transaction under the Activity & Reports menu
  3. Choose the Dates  dropdown menu to change the date needed.
  4. Press the Search button to find the transaction.
  5. Lastly, print the report or export the data as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.

You can also visit the following page to locate any deposits or fees using QuickBooks Merchant: Find transactions, deposits, or fees using your Online Service Center.

If the transaction still isn’t visible after the steps above, I recommend recreating your invoices. Ensure that you use the correct date corresponding to when each invoice was originally created.

Additionally, here's an overview of everything you can do, how to get set up, and how QuickBooks tracks everything throughout the year: Overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed.
