I’m glad to see you in the Community, kippenlovey@gmai.

I’ll help and make sure you can add the current liabilities account in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let’s go to the Chart of Accounts page to accomplish this task. It only takes a few clicks to get there.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu on the left panel and pick Chart of Accounts.
  2. Press the New button in the upper right to open the Account window.
  3. From there, click the Account Type drop-down to choose Other Current Liabilities and select the correct category in the Detail Type drop-down.
  4. Enter a term that will identify the account in the Name field.
  5. Fill in the remaining fields.
  6. Click Save and Close.coa liab.png

For more insights into this process, see the following article: Add an account to your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online. It includes instructions on how to enter an account when recording transactions.

Also, this guide provides detailed information on the accounts that you can delete, edit, or merge in QuickBooks Online (QBO): Manage default and special accounts in your chart of accounts.

Feel free to visit the Community again if you have additional questions on how to set up an account. I’m more than happy to answer them for you. Enjoy your week ahead.
