Run Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Did you encounter any error message?
This never got fixed as far as we can tell....do you have any more information about what Quickbooks is doing?? 4 yrs and this is still a massive problem!
Attaching the shortage report for one of our builds. As you look at the report you can see it says I am short "2277-NPP" which is a part for a sub-assembly for the actual component needed in the build item "2277". As you will see on the other attachment (unfortunately I will have to comment again for the 2nd attachment, SMH), I have quantity 7 of item "2277"- the component I need for the build. BUT, because I have no quantity to make more of sub-assembly "2277-NPP", which I DO NOT NEED, QuickBooks will not allow me to do the build.
4 years since you promised this was being addressed. Still broken.
Don't bother contacting QB customer support like they say on here to do. I just did, they act like they have never heard of INV-19434. Then they go over the basics they want you to do just like in this thread, that is if you can get them to understand the problem and then they pretend they are going to communicate with the phantom engineering department that has been working on this issue since 2020.....anyone else think a class action lawsuit might be worthwhile?
I would join in.
true. They haven't a clue. Even up a level of support, no help.
They advertise this mini-MRP function in Quickbooks which I why I bought it and spent SO MUCH TIME setting it up. And it doesn't work.
One thing I figured out was to watch your dates. I could not BUILD an assembly because the date I received the raw materials was the date of the build. I had to lie and "receive" the materials BEFORE so I could build.
The reports are always screwed up. It will say I don't have something I actually have in stock... it's in the inventory as present and available, yet forces me to make the build PENDING because it can't see the inventory.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS SOFTWARE TO ANYONE... EVER.
I would like to start a list and see if we can get some actual traction with this. If you would email me at [email address removed], I will start a list and we can stay in touch.
Anyone else reading this with the same issue and tired of being jerked around by Quickbooks email me and we will see what we can do as a group of consumers.
I'm way a head of them.....hlarson is the beginning @ then you put diamondeng and when you finish you add .net.......anyone who wants to reach out.
I appreciate all the efforts you've performed to get this resolved, Nottoday. It is not the experience we want you to have. I can share details regarding the assembly build issue in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise.
To begin with, did you encounter any errors while working with inaccurate pending build shortage reports? If so, sharing the specific error message would greatly assist us in providing a tailored solution.
Furthermore, when creating an assembly in QBDT, please ensure that the item linked to the main or subassembly has sufficient available stock. The program will identify any shortages that can cause problems building the assembly.
In addition, regarding INV-19434, I suggest manually reviewing the build assembly for the item that's short for the pending build as an alternative solution.
However, if you already run the Verify and Rebuild process and the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team again. They can assist you with additional troubleshooting methods to rectify the issue.
Here's how to reach out to them:

I'm still here if you have any other concerns or questions about the inventory items to build finished goods in QBDT. Just drop the details below, and I'll get back to you.
I am not sure if you people realize how annoying these responses are.......most of the time you pretend not to understand what is going on but with the number of threads regarding this issue and the length of time, it is impossible for you to be that dense. So the only answer is this is purposeful and you have no intention of fixing this major issue.
Even we know what is going on.....your software is accounting for sub-assembly parts needed even when the sub-assembly is already built. And because of this your software will then not allow us to effect builds.
Accounting software that prevents you from making sales...... I feel like the legal liability here is huge, which begs the question "why are you inviting that type of headache?" Just fix the problem you know about and have been avoiding for at least 5yrs!
