Invoice Subtotals for a T&M invoice

I invoice based of T&M and some of my invoices can be 20-30 pages.  Is there a way I can subtotal the lines items so it "combines" the entries onto one line?  Or a report that I can print the "subtotal" only?  It has to be based off the invoice as the invoice reflects the markups, etc.

Is there a way to job cost equipment?  How do I enter so it reflects on the reports?  Desktop Enterprise 24

Invoice Subtotals for a T&M invoice

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, Brenda17200.

I can certainly understand how an ability to combine all line items on invoices into one line could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to Help, then Send Feedback Online.
  2. Choose the Product Suggestion option.
  3. Enter your suggestion.
  4. Select Send Feedback.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing our Product Updates page.

As for reports, you could try using your Open Invoices, Sales by Customer Summary, or Sales by Customer Detail reports. If they aren't giving you the customization options you're looking for, you can consider exporting reports and customizing them further outside of QuickBooks. For tracking job costs, I'd recommend reviewing our Track job costs article.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with reports which may come in handy moving forward: Understand reports

Please don't hesitate to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have a wonderful Friday!
