Is it possible to add more than one tag group?

Welcome to Community, @vseavello.

 

I have some information about adding a tag group in QBSE. Currently, this option is unavailable. Since this feature is on QBO, you'll want to keep posted on the updates. This might be available soon in the QBSE version.

Is QBO something different that the QBSE I currently use on the web? Is the tag group more fully supported in QBO? What info is there that describes how to upgrade from QBSE to QBO?

Sorry if this is a duplicate response, posting my followup question was lost when I was asked to sign in.

 

Is it possible to upgrade from QBSE to QBO? I could really use the tag group capability. What info is there on the plans for QBO and which one provides the tab group functionality?

Thanks for your interest in upgrading to QuickBooks Online, vseavello.

 

I have some insight about upgrading from QBSE to QBO and the tag features.

 

The ability to upgrade from QBSE to QBO is unavailable. However, you can cancel your QBSE account and subscribe to QBO. I'll show you the step-by-step process.

 

Step 1: Save your QBSE data:

 

1. In QuickBooks Self-employed, go to the Reports menu.

2. In the Tax details section, click a tax year.

3. Hit Download to get a Tax Details report.

4. Download a report for each tax year you have.

 

Step 2: Download the transactions you need to move:

 

1. In QuickBooks Self-employed, click the Transactions menu.

2. Select Add transaction.

3. Enter the date, transact description, and amount.

4. Choose a category type to download from the dropdown menu.

5. Enter notes, browse, and upload a receipt.

6. Hit Save.

7. Select the Download icon to the right of ACTION to get the CSV file.

8. Save it on your computer.

 

Then, sign up for a QuickBooks Online account. After that, you can follow steps 3 and 4 through the switch from QBSE to QBO link to complete the process.

 

On the other hand, the tags group is available in QBO(simple start, essential, plus, and advanced). This behaves similarly to classes, locations, and custom fields. When you put tags into groups, you'll have better insight into how your business is doing.
