Is there a way to change the name that shows up on the client's credit card statement? I need my company name instead of the generic QuickBooks identifier.

If it wasn't obvious, I'm using QuickBooks Merchant Processing to accept credit card payments.

There is, indeed, @jack-1904htm-com. I’m happy to guide you on how to change your customer’s name.

You can go to your customer's profiles and change the name from there, so it'll show up on your customer’s statements. I’ll show you how to do this:

  1. From the Sales menu, go to the Customers tab.
  2. Select the customer from the list.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Edit your customer’s name and click Save when done.

For more details about this process, feel free to review this article: Adding and managing customers in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you’ll want to pull up some reports that can give you a snapshot of your business and personalize them to modify the information according to your needs. Feel free to visit these helpful resources:

Let me know how else I can help you with managing your customer’s information in QuickBooks Online. I'm more than happy to lend a helping hand. Keep safe always.

I have this same question, but the current response was for changing the customer's name, not our own business name when the customer sees it on their card statement.  Can you please add a response to the original question?

Good morning, shellyatzorro.

Thanks for joining this conversation thread. I'm happy to provide some info about changing the details in QuickBooks Online that your customers see.

This can be edited in the Account and Settings area of your account. Here's how:

1. Click the Gear icon in the top right corner.

2. Select Account and settings.

3. In the Contact info section of the Company tab you can make changes to the "customer-facing" information.

4. Click Save and then Done when you're finished.

Here's how this will look in your account:

I'm linking a few articles below that I believe you'll find helpful:

With this info you'll be able to enter how your business details will appear to your customers. Please feel free to reach back out if you happen to have any other questions.

My client is having the same issue.  His clients are disputing the credit card charge because it is coming through with his corporate company name on it instead of his dba name on it - so the client is getting confused.  He has his bank account set up with the corporate name dba name on it - and the merchant services account with QB has the corporate name on it.  How do we fix it so the client sees his dba name, rather than the corporate name?

None of these steps is fixing that problem.

Thanks.

Hello kimarnalod 75,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! You can make these changes in your Merchant Account. Here's how to change your business information for DBA:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Payments account.
  2. Select Account, then Account Profile.
  3. Go to Account Holder/Business Information, then select Edit.
  4. Change your business info as you need to, then select Submit.

That should do it! Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I will be here to help! I look forward to seeing you around.
