Is there a way to differentiate between paid and unpaid bills on estimates vs. actuals detail reports?

Question: I need to run an estimates vs. actuals report for a construction company using QB Desktop. I am running into an issue in which the "actuals" column is all invoices received from Subcontractors, both paid and unpaid. I need to be able to differentiate between paid and unpaid invoices, the owner wants to see estimates vs. actuals invoices paid, not estimates vs. actuals invoices received. I don't have the option of selecting "cash" or "accrual" for this report. I hope this makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for joining this thread, adairgc. Allow me to provide some insights about customizing the contents of your Estimate report and having the option of selecting cash or accrual accounting method.

The ability to have an option for cash or accrual accounting method when pulling up the Estimates vs. Actuals Details isn't possible. This limitation exists because the system needs to pull in all relevant data, including non-posting transactions, to provide a comprehensive view of the estimates and actual figures. While this functionality may not be available, the report still aims to deliver a thorough comparison of the estimated and actual values, even if it cannot differentiate between cash and accrual bases.

Additionally, differentiating between paid and unpaid invoices when running the Estimates vs. Actuals Details reports isn't available. However, we value your feedback and suggestions for improving our product. In this case, I recommend submitting your feature suggestion to our Product Development Team. Your recommendations and suggestions are valuable to us as they help us identify areas we can improve. Our Development Team will review your suggestion for further consideration.

I'll show you how you can send one:

  1. Locate the Help option.
  2. Choose the Send Feedback Online option.
  3. Select the Product Suggestion option. A pop-up window displays. Enter your feedback suggestion.
  4. Click the Send Feedback button.

Remember, adairgc, I'm here to assist you throughout the entire process. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or if you need help managing and customizing your reports. Together, we can make sure you get the most out of your QuickBooks experience. Take care!

@adairgc

I'm not sure if this works but try clicking 'Customize Report', click on the Filters tab, select 'Paid Status', select Closed, click OK.
