Yes, use the Make Recurring button bottom center of a journal. Select Unscheduled and you will see
"Unscheduled transactions don’t have timetables; you use them as needed from the Recurring Transactions list."
and then you can use the template as needed.
Keep in mind that journal entries are never appropriate when a Sales Receipt, Invoice, Deposit or Expense would work
