Job P & L

I just ran a job P & L report and a transaction that was paid thru bill pay shows up 5 times with different amounts yet the total amount adds up to the amount on the bill. I had applied 4 credits to the bill so I think that has something to do with it showing up so many times. However, I don't want the one transaction to show as 5 transactions on the Job P & L. Anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?

Job P & L

Welcome to the Community space, @dcgenterprises7.

The Profit & Loss by Job report shows you how much money your company is making or losing each job. This will only show you the total amount per account. 2.PNG

Clicking on the amount will open the Transaction Detail By Account report. There, it shows the breakdown of the transactions for each account in your Chart of Accounts.

If this is not the case, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild tool. This scans your company file for issues and fixes them right away. Let me show you how in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

To Verify:

  1. Go to the Window menu and select Close All.
  2. Then, go to the File menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Click Verify Data.

To Rebuild:

  1. Go to the File menu.
  2. Select Utilities.
  3. Click Rebuild Data.

Let me also add this link that you can read for guidance in generating a report base on the details you need: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance running your reports. I’m always around ready to back you up. Keep safe and have a good one!
