Journal Entry not showing up in P&L Report

I created a Journal entry that is listed in my Journal Report however, it is not showing up in my P&L Report. I created 3 other Journal entries at the same time and they are listed in the P&L Report. I am using QBO.  Any advice?

Journal Entry not showing up in P&L Report

Thanks for joining the Community, 360PMCR.

If a journal entry isn't affecting or showing up in your profit and loss report, I'd initially recommend checking the Report period and Accounting method to confirm they're set appropriately.

In the event they're already set up correctly, you can also check your report's customizations by clicking the Customize button. You'll want to verify there's no active filters that could be filtering your journal entry out of the report.

If you've checked your report's customizations and everything's configured correctly for the entry to be showing on it, but it's still not displaying, I'd recommend working with an accounting professional. If you're in need of one, there's an awesome tool on our website called Find a ProAdvisor. All ProAdvisors listed there are QuickBooks-certified and able to provide helpful insights for driving your business's success.

Here's how it works:

  1. Go to our Find a ProAdvisor page.
  2. Use the City or ZIP search field to specify a location.
  3. Select Find a ProAdvisor.
  4. Browse through your results and find one that works best for the business. You can click on each ProAdvisor's profile to learn more information about them.

Once you've found an accountant, they can be contacted through their Send a message form:

  1. Use the available text box to introduce yourself. Be sure to include details about which services you're looking for.
  2. Enter your appropriate info in the Your nameYour email, and Your phone number (optional) fields.
  3. Select Send message.

You'll also be able to find many detailed resources about using QuickBooks in our help article archives.

If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a great Friday!

Journal Entry not showing up in P&L Report

@360PMCR

If it's not showing up on your P&L, and the date of the journal entry is between the beginning and end dates of the P&L report, then the journal entry must not have an income or expense account as one of the entries.
