I recently upgraded from Desktop 2021 Nonprofit Edition to Desktop 2024 Premier Pro. I noticed something unusual when I went to complete the next reconciliation so I went to Reports>Banking>Previous Reconciliation and the years of reconciliation reports are now gone, with no option to even select. I did a test and completed the reconciliation of a petty cash account and went to look for it in the same reports location. They are no longer stored. If I recall this is a feature of Online, of actually thereof, which is why we opted for the Desktop subscription. When I called Intuit they said it was the fault of my cloud host, RightWorks, and that they may have had an issue with the upgrade and that it was not a software issue. I find that nearly impossible because the reports still appear in my 2021 version. Did Intuit actually remove this feature in Desktop 2024? Why bother with this menu option if you can can actually see the history? Finally, is there an alternate report that can be used?
I'll share some troubleshooting steps to fix this so you can select a reconciliation date and proceed with your tasks, @FUMC Bookkeeper.
First, please check if the issue is only on your company file. Start by downloading and opening a sample file to check if the dates of the reconciled transactions are present. I'll attach an image as a representation:
If you could generate it in the sample record, the possible reason might be due to a data damage issue after upgrading to the latest desktop version. With that, you may utilize the Verify and Rebuild tools for detection and repair. By using these built-in features, you allowed the software to refresh and update the data inside the company file. These are the steps you need to take:
Alternatively, QuickBooks offers a Tool Hub to fix data and other problems in the program.
On the other hand, there's no alternative report that would show the previously reconciled accounts and transactions. However, there's a Reconciliation Discrepancy report available if you want to look for changed, deleted, or added transactions.
Moreover, customizing reports will be helpful to have more personalized information that meets your reporting standards.
I'd love to know updates about this. If you have any other questions about accessing the reconciliation report in QBDT, feel free to post them below. I'm just around the corner to help.
I tried the rebuild and the verify options with no success. I can access the old menu option if I log back into the 2021 version. Again, even after reconciling multiple months yesterday, the history of those reconciliations do not appear under Reports>Banking>Previous Reconciliations. I will try the Tool Hub as a last resort.
As it turns out I can not download the File Doctor/Tool Hub because I work off a Desktop version that is held on a remote cloud by RightWorks.
I contacted RightWorks and had them assist me in verifying the upgrade, and duplicated it into another company, but the results were the same. The Tool Hub/File Doctor also indicated that there is nothing wrong with the file. The results again appear that there is something directly wrong with the 2024 software. I reinstalled the 2021 version and this is not an issue version of QBs Desktop.
Can anyone else see the reconciliation history in their 2024 version? This would help confirm if this is a software programming deficiency, or an upgrade error.

I have tried to chat with QBs using the feature mentioned, and I did receive call backs. Unfortunately the rep was unable to conduct a multiple party call with RightWorks to address the situation. As of now I have no solution for this issue and the problem is unresolved, leaving me extremely frustrated and out of options.
