Buy nowHi,
I have read that most likely 2 users cannot work on the same QB file at the same time. If QB desktop is on both computers with the same company file, is it possible to sync the changes made on each computer?
My issue is that I am hiring someone to help enter a large amount of bills, invoices, etc. But if we both need to do our share at the same time, how can you make that work?
Thank you,
Damien
Hello there, Damien.
With the multi-user network, users (two or more) can log in and work on a company file on different computers at the same time. There'll be no issue hiring someone to help you enter transactions since both of you can sync the changes made on each of your computers. We'll guide you on how to install and set up your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to do this process accordingly.
Start by setting up QBDT. Here's how:
After that, set folder permissions, install database server manager, adjust firewall and security settings, place admin rights, turn on hosting, and install QuickBooks on a workstation. For the step-by-step guide in completing these procedures, please see this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop on a server.
Also, we've included this article to learn more about QBDT hosting and multi-user mode: Host your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
Stay in touch if you have additional concerns or questions about the multi-user network in QBDT. I'll jump right back to make sure you're taken care of. Have a good one.
Do you have QB Desktop with a 2 users license?
Are you both working in the same network environment (LAN)?
