Need help running what should be a simple sales report

I would like to generate a report that shows total number of orders and total revenue for those orders, separated by class. I've tried most of the obvious reports but I can't seem to get the data that I need. I've done Sales By Product, Sales By Class & Item Type, Sales By Customer, Sale By Item... But no matter what I customize in the settings, I can't get these simple criteria to display. Anyone got any tips on how to get total number of orders for a given time period that breaks down totals by class?

I'm using Desktop Enterprise: Wholesale & Manufacturing edition.

Need help running what should be a simple sales report

Hello there, topher.

I'll share some details about generating a report that shows the total number of orders and total revenue for those orders, separated by class in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I understand that having these details on a report is beneficial to your business. However, there's no specific report that will show the total number of orders and total revenue for those orders in a given period that breaks down totals by class.

As a workaround, you can pull up two different reports, like the Open Sales Order by Item report to show the total item invoiced and to show the total revenues, you can pull up the Sales report by Item details and filter it by class. Then, export the reports to Excel and filter them from there. See this link for guidance in exporting the reports: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm leaving this article for future reference in personalizing reports in QuickBooks: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
