Need to delete Duplicate transactions

I am working through categorizing bank transactions for one of my accounts and the same charge is appearing 3 times in quickbooks. I've already confirmed it only cleared my bank account once, so I need to get these other 2 transactions off my ledger.  How do I do that?

Need to delete Duplicate transactions

Open the check register, click on the unwanted transaction and then click the Delete button.

Need to delete Duplicate transactions

Thank you, however there is no delete button. These are transactions that have not yet been categorized, and the only options are to Accept, Edit, or Exclude. I'm not sure if excluding is the same as deleting.

Need to delete Duplicate transactions

Thanks for replying to this thread, MAlexander1. Allow me to guide you on removing duplicate transactions on your account.

Excluding a transaction removes a transaction from any account registers or financial reports and QuickBooks will stop bringing the transaction into the bank feed again. Deleting them on the other hand will recognize that the transaction is not accounted for and will download the same transaction again from the bank.

Since you want to delete the transactions, you can go ahead and exclude them first. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions then Bank transactions.
  2. Select the bank account, then click the For review tab.
  3. Choose transactions you want to exclude.
  4. Click Batch actions, then choose Exclude.

After this, here's how to delete it:

  1. Go to the Excluded tab.
  2. Select the transactions you want to delete.
  3. Click Batch actions, then choose Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

In addition, I've added an article for you to learn how to reconcile your accounts, so they always match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know in your reply if you need further questions about duplicated transactions in QuickBooks Online. Stay safe.
